Pastors’ Corner
Join Pastor McQueen for Wednesday Bible Study at noon, and the Wonderful Wednesday Worship Service at 7:00 p.m., teaching/preaching from the Book of Hosea.

Gospel Choice Awards

St. James’ Music Ministry has been nominated for a Gospel Choice Award in the categories of Best Choir and Best Praise & Worship. Children’s Ministry
The Children’s Ministry is in dire need of individuals to serve in Children's Church on Sundays and Wednesday nights. For more information, contact Lynelle Carr or Gwen Knight-Warner at children@stjamesumc.org.

The Annual Fall Harvest Festival will be held on Saturday, October 30. If interested in assisting with this year's event, email Gwen Knight-Warner at children@stjamesumc.org.

Christian Education Ministry
The Christian Education Ministry will offer a Youth Disciple Class for teens in grades 9-12, beginning Sunday, September 12 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 pm. See Aaron Hayes, or email ceadmin@stjamesumc.org to register.
“Safe Sanctuaries” Training will be held on Saturday, September 18 at 10:00 a.m. for all persons who currently serve or have a desire to serve in our Children and Youth Ministries. For more information, contact Cassandra Marshall at www.stjamesumc.org.

Music, Worship & Arts
Tickets for the SJUMC 2010 Inspirational JazzFest are available today for $20 thru September 10; $25 day of the event.

Stewardship Ministry
The next Job Seeker Network workshop will be held on September 14 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The workshop will focus on resume creation and development. All job seekers and servant workers are welcome. Register online or email Freddie Burns at stewardship@stjamesumc.org for more information.

In the Community
Boy Scout Troop 2206 is accepting applications for the 2010/2011 scout year. Parents and those interested in a scouting program that emphasizes the importance of a Christian walk through fun activities are invited to attend our Open House kickoff meeting on Saturday September 18, at 10:00 a.m. in Rm. 202.
