St. James UMC Giving Tree
The Giving Tree will help people in need in two areas affected by Hurricane Maria – Puerto Rico and St. Thomas.  We are asking for donations to help address basic needs such as providing water bottles with filters so that residents can have clean drinking water.  St. James is partnering with a women’s and a men’s correctional facility to provide gifts to the children of those incarcerated.   We are also requesting that the congregation provide ‘Atlanta Blessings’  which are gifts of hats, gloves and throws for those living on the streets of Atlanta.  We have angels on the tree for all of these gifts.  Please bless these families by selecting angels from the tree.   All purchased gifts should be unwrapped & placed in gift bags.  If you need more information or want to help,  please email outreach@stjamesumc.org.
St. James UMC Giving Tree Opportunities to Serve
We need servants at the Outreach table for 10 minutes after each Sunday worship and Wednesday Bible Study service to help the congregation with selecting angels from the tree.  Please email outreach@stjamesumc.org  to let me know which Sunday/Wednesday service you’re available to serve.
December 11th-December 15th 5pm-8pm
We need your help to make the Giving Tree a success!  We need help organizing, sorting, shopping and delivering gifts.  We will also add snacks to the Atlanta gift bags.
Saturday, December 16th  10am-2pm
We will travel by bus to a location downtown and share the gift of Jesus Christ.  We will hand out the Atlanta Blessings gift bags and we may also feed those in need.
Saturday, December 16th  9am-2pm
We will have a small group go to the women’s correctional facility to deliver gifts and celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with the women and their children.
Saturday, December 16th  9am-2pm   St. James Homestretch  Apartment Rehab
The Homestretch apartment has the St. James name on it so let’s step up and make it all that we can!   We need painters, decorators and DONATIONS.   Donations needed are:  furniture (bedroom furniture, tables) curtain rods and curtains, linen, blankets, throw rugs, bathroom/kitchen rugs, pictures, kitchen ware – plates, glasses, utensils.    For larger items including furniture, please take pictures of items and the pics to outreach@stjamesumc.org.  If you have larger items, we can arrange pickup.  We would prefer that you drop the smaller items off at Homestretch on the 16th.  We may have a St. James/Homestretch Dollar Store where we can get donations from the congregation of household items, toys, etc. that we sell for $1 to the residents at Homestretch.   This is pending approval from Homestretch.  Email outreach@stjamesumc.org to donate or to serve.
